Binance Pay, the payments arm of Binance, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide, has introduced a new feature to make donations for disaster relief efforts simpler and safer. In a recent announcement, Binance Pay said that the feature incorporates the cryptocurrency charity organization Binance Charity and aims to support humanitarian projects globally.
The recent devastating earthquakes in Greece and Haiti have caused widespread damage and loss of life, triggering urgent appeals for aid. Binance Pay’s disaster relief feature will enable users to donate in Bitcoin, Ether, and over 40 other cryptocurrencies available on the Binance exchange, streamlining the donation process for users worldwide.

In addition, Binance has pledged to match every donation made on the platform, doubling the impact of users’ contributions. Binance Pay’s verification system ensures that each donation goes directly toward legitimate, trustworthy NGOs working on the ground in disaster-hit areas. Furthermore, a record of all transactions is kept on the blockchain, ensuring full transparency and accountability.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao commented on the launch of the feature, saying that Binance is committed to leveraging its expertise and services to provide assistance in disaster-affected areas, adding that the company’s blockchain technology and crypto ecosystem enable it to respond quickly and effectively to provide essential aid.
Binance Pay’s disaster relief feature is not the first initiative by the exchange to support humanitarian projects. Binance Charity, the exchange’s charity arm, was established in 2017 to support projects related to education, poverty alleviation, and disaster response, among others. Binance Charity has already made significant contributions, including providing personal protective equipment to healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and donating funds to victims of natural disasters.
Binance Pay’s disaster relief feature presents an excellent opportunity for people to help those affected by natural disasters. The integration of Binance Charity enables donations to reach reputable organizations working on the ground, and the use of blockchain technology ensures transparency and accountability. Furthermore, with Binance’s pledge to match donations, the impact of every contribution is doubled, making it a highly effective channel for supporting humanitarian projects globally.
