In an era when credit cards are used increasingly less and less online, you should know that some major companies are now accepting Bitcoin as means of payment. There is a great deal of interest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies among businesses that want to differentiate themselves from the competition in 2023

  • Microsoft, the tech giant, allows customers to use Bitcoin to add funds to their Microsoft accounts.
  • Over 18000 businesses around the world have already accepted cryptocurrencies.

Which Companies Accept Cryptocurrency

Among the biggest companies in the world today, there is a number that have offered bitcoins as payment for their products or services. There are a few popular ones we’ve discussed below, so let’s have a look at them;

Microsoft

It is one of the largest US companies with a market capitalization of $1 trillion, after Apple or Amazon. Entirely accepted the bitcoin transactions. The Microsoft Store makes it easy for platform users to purchase needed products.

Whether buying a downloadable movie, a digital game for Xbox, or an app, buying Bitcoin is easy. The tech giant has a Bitcoin payment gateway but no refunds.  All that aside, this is good progress.

Microsoft accepted Bitcoin for use in online Xbox stores in 2014. We temporarily suspended acceptance due to volatility but are now retaking it with Xbox Store credit only. Bill Gates commented on Bitcoin many times or said things like “Bitcoin is better than currency.”

Overstock

Overstock is one of the big companies that started accepting cryptocurrency payments. The company accepts payments using Litecoin, Ethereum, Dash, Monero, and Bitcoin Cash. Also, Overstock is now the leader in shopping and cryptocurrency.

Overstock has gone far as to accept multiple types of cryptocurrencies or not just Bitcoin. Furthermore, Overstock not only accepts Bitcoin but also holds Bitcoin. These are types of providers that serve the Bitcoin community in the best possible way. We are working on and not just using Bitcoin as a marketing play.  Select Bitcoin as your payment method during the checkout process.

Starbucks

A deal between Starbucks, and third-party payment app Bakkt lets you pay for your morning coffee using cryptocurrency. The Bakkt app allows you to buy, sell and trade cryptocurrencies and pay with Bitcoin at many of his Bakkt partners, such as Starbucks.

Alongside Cantaloupe, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Bakkt recently partnered with Quiznos to accept Bitcoin, loyalty points, and airline rewards.

Starbucks initially disappointed the Bitcoin world when it rushed to report that it would start accepting in-store Bitcoin payments in 2019. However, Starbucks later revealed that the report was wrong on several fronts: First, it does not directly accept bitcoin payments. Instead, they have partnered with futures exchange Bakkt or secondly, will not accept Bitcoin payments until mid-2020 when the Bakkt app launches.

Shopify

Shopify is one of the most important companies to enter the cryptocurrency world. The online shopping giant allows crypto fans to place and pay orders using crypto. In 2013, the company launched a way for customers to pay with Bitcoin. Since then, customers have been able to pay with Bitcoin on all of the company’s websites.

All you have to do is find out if a business selling on the platform accepts Bitcoin as a payment method. In this case, the merchant decides which type of payment to use. So before you buy anything check if the company you want to buy or from accepts Bitcoin payments.

With all miners leaving China, renewable energy is slowly becoming a bigger part of the Bitcoin mining landscape.

Twitch has become one of the best, most used streaming platforms, especially before or after the pandemic. Seeing the potential of the organization, owners have allowed cryptocurrency transactions via BitPay, from Bitcoin and Ethereum to Dogecoin and Litecoin.
